Lahiruni Dias Amarawardena is a junior pursuing a BA in International Relations and a minor certificate in Asian American Studies. Her academic interests include learning about identity in politics, intersectionality, social movements, and all types of modern human history. When she isn’t at school, she’s busy practicing Bharatanatyam and cooking exciting new dishes for her family.
Psalmy Lacson is a sophomore BS Psychology major. On campus she is a research assistant for the Early Childhood Interaction Lab and a Psychology teaching assistant, and outside of classes she is on board for the Asian American Student Union, a member of the Student Alumni Leadership Council, a BSOS Ambassador, and a mentor for the MD Mentor Corps. She is also involved in the Filipino Cultural Association and is passionate about APIDA student life on campus.
Ipsa Mittra is a senior computer science major with minors in Asian American studies and statistics. She is passionate about bioinformatics research and increasing diversity and inclusion in computing spaces. She hopes to combine her love of science and learning about various cultures in the future. In her free time, she likes to read Asian American literature, bake, and spend time with her friends and family.
Divya Vakkalanka is a sophomore Journalism and International Relations major with an Asian American Studies Minor. She is an Indian American and speaks three languages. On campus, she is involved with the Asian American Student Union, WMUC radio, the Kappa Omega Alpha public policy fraternity and freelances for different campus publications.
